Guatemala Teak. An emerging plantation origin.
Guatemala's teak plantations, concentrated in the Petén region, are a newer addition to our sourcing network — younger plantations that are beginning to produce export-grade volume as they reach harvest maturity.
A growing origin worth watching
Guatemala's plantation sector is younger than Ecuador's or Brazil's, which means log diameters can run smaller on average, but the growing conditions in Petén produce a grain quality that's earning the origin a growing reputation among buyers looking for an alternative supply source.
Where it's used
Guatemala teak's grain suits joinery and furniture components well, and as plantation volumes grow, it's increasingly available for larger structural and decking applications too.
